| The Odyssey Reserve Iliad Chardonnay 2008 is an elegant wine, full and vibrant, with ripe peach, melon and grapefruit flavours and well integrated nutty oak. A beautifully restrained and balanced wine still unfolding.
Serve with scallops, crab and other full-flavoured seafood dishes. Chicken and other white meats, with rich sauces. New Release Dec 09 Michael Cooper has classified the Odyssey Reserve Iliad Gisborne Chardonnay as an Icon Wine,in his book 'Classic Wines of New Zealand.' Previous Vintage 2004...Pale straw. Beautifully fragrant, toasty, mealy, slightly minerally, complex bouquet. Rich yet refined palate, with delicate peach, pear and citrus fruit flavours, complex and layered. Slightly buttery and toasty, with good spine, structure and length. Notably complete, softly textured wine. Still youthful and will mature well. Drink 2007-09.
